I cannot find a more articulate response than yours to this shinanigan. “Bingo!” is all that came to my rusting mind. C’mon, global citizens of the Earth, is the U.S. really the be-all and end-all? Surely, you jest. The actual Ruling Folks don’t need countries; their wealth is transnational and global.
The house already passed it. As I recall, it is notw onto the Senate floor. First, it is not a strong enough environmental-overhaul bill. I don’t know what it is supposed to accomplish; obviously, neither the economic recovery nor the environmental clean up. You have to give up one to achieve another in this equation because we still heavily rely on industrial methods to prduce goods. It is another one of those bills whose intent is nobler than the bill itself.
Did cap and trade actually pass both houses?
Bingo – the ‘Bubble Economy.’ Wait until it bursts like the housing market and accompany with it subsequently all of the symptoms of market falldown. You cannot, and, I repeat, cannot work your way of debt by creating more debt without using the latter debt to create productivity. In economics, two negatives do not make a positive because we are not multiplying debts literally; it’s just the figure of speech. We are simply adding more debt.
how did cnbc get real people on their channel like that? did they run out of patsys?
Nope! Your are not alone on that.
Don´t you think it´s reasonable to measure pollution in relation to size of population? If measured by size, Finland could pollute as much as Germany, which would be absurd.
The point is that if they are currently on the level of the US, that means that they are polluting much less than americans(per person).
Whatever rules the US follow, these poor countries live are much below it.
Who cares that they have more people than we do! The point is that China has just as much total pollution as the US, yet they are let off the hook for any kind of pollution control standards. Now I ask you again: do you think that is fair to exempt them from polluting and slam the US for all the pollution? Can you say “double-standard”?
Your argument makes very little sense.
China has 4 times as many people as the US…India around 3.5. Yet these countries have MUCH lower and fewer pollution/emission standards enforced than the US, and they are rapidly industrializing.
This would lead any reasonable person to believe that per capita, China and India will grossly surpass the US in proportionate pollution very soon if they do not already.
And I suppose you haven´t considered the fact that the chinese are 4 times as many as you, and the Indians 3 1/2. This means that China would have to tripple its current rate of pollution before it reaches the rate of the United States.
LOL!! Mark Steyn has said the same thing you did and you are both 100% correct. Mark Steyn – “Oh it’s absurd to think the government can do anything about illegal immigration, but CHANGING THE VERY HEAVENS!!”. Good stuff!!
Actually, China just surpassed us in total contribution of annual pounds of carbon in the atmosphere, so we are not the #1 polluter anymore, yet China and India are exempt from pollution standards because they are considered developing nations? Sounds pretty unfair that they can continue to pollute because they claim it would hurt their economy to cut back, yet the US gets all the blame. What about the US economy? This “climate change” crap is so overblown and horribly inconsistent.
arrogant americans as usual. You pollute more than any other country. You want to hasard the environment so you can drive around in your hummers and SUVs. The rest of the world try care for other countries.
Anyway, luckily, you´ll soon be too poor to destroy at the current rate

Peter laughs as his numbers grow,new leader with all common sense.Morons like Dennis will aways be licking boots of their masters.Times are changing listen up,when you can,stay aware of what they are saying.
Utterly insane is correct! I can believe that the Gov. believes that it can control the climate because the US government thinks it can control ANYTHING.
lol Am I the only one who thinks it is utterly insane to believe that the US Government can control the climate of planet Earth?
It seems a bit worrisome that people are developing a god complex about a government that can even balance its checkbook.
70road, I’d take corporate masters over government masters any day. At least corporations sole reason to exist is provide us with a product or service we want at a price we want to pay. Government exists to force us to do things we’d normally not be willing to do, through force.
@BanGovernment:
It seems that Wikipedia, in the “Peak Oil” article, has charts for production and consumption. Besides that, I’ve found a lot of information on “TheOilDrum” website. Let me know if you need something more substantial, and I’ll try to look around more.
I agree. This seems accurate with Dr King Hubberts curve predictions.
However, would you know any website links that illustrates oil production vs consumption? I’ve been trying to find it and not having much luck. Thankyou.
@sollycardy98:
So then oil is a renewable resource that replenishes at a faster rate than extraction? That is the only way that Peak Oil can be an impossibility.
If oil does not replenish at a rate that is faster than extraction, then the only question to be asked is WHEN it will happen, not IF. And if you knew something about the industry, you would know that oil finds have been falling off a cliff, and oil production in most countries has peaked, and Saudi oil is stalling.
Do you have any links to this truth… I am not attacking you just want to find more about how Big Corp IS FUCKING THIS NATION THANKS
We need a Major Deflation and then allow us to compete with china then just keep buying their stuff and not sending anything back beside paper dollars!
