Quantum Mechanics: Properties Of Elementary Particles
Quantum Mechanics (Part 5): Properties of Elementary/Fundamental Particles. — Please subscribe to Science & Reason: • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com • www.youtube.com — PARTICLE PHYSICS Particle physics is a branch of physics that studies the elementary constituents of matter and radiation, and the interactions between them. It is also called high energy physics, because many elementary particles do not occur under normal circumstances in nature, but can be created and detected during energetic collisions of other particles, as is done in particle accelerators. Research in this area has produced a long list of particles. SUBATOMIC PARTICLES Modern particle physics research is focused on subatomic particles, including atomic constituents such as electrons, protons, and neutrons (protons and neutrons are actually composite particles, made up of quarks), particles produced by radioactive and scattering processes, such as photons, neutrinos, and muons, as well as a wide range of exotic particles. Strictly speaking, the term particle is a misnomer because the dynamics of particle physics are governed by quantum mechanics. As such, they exhibit wave-particle duality, displaying particle-like behavior under certain experimental conditions and wave-like behavior in others (more technically they are described by state vectors in a Hilbert space; see quantum field theory). Following the convention of particle physicists, “elementary particles” refer to objects such as …

Summerville Townhouse Communities in South Carolina
Summerville, SC does not have nearly the selection of townhouses compared to houses. This relatively low supply is a result of the low demand: most buyers for the Summerville area want houses rather than condos or townhouses. However, there are several good options to consider if you’re looking at buying a townhouse. I’ve listed below some of the most popular townhouse communities in Summerville.
Central Commons is one of the best places to look right now for townhouses in Summerville. These have lots of space (most are around 1400 sq ft). They also have great upgrades for the price, like hardy plank siding, hardwood floors, and wooden cabinetry. If you’re looking in the $120-150K price range, you should definitely compare Central Commons to some of the other townhouses on your list because these will probably be some of the nicest you will see for the money.
Lakes of Summerville also has an excellent selection of affordable townhouses in Summerville. Prices right now start just above $100,000. Most of these were built in 2005, so they’re quite new. These are all 2 story, but many of the floor plans have a master bedroom downstairs. The only amenity for this community is a pool.
Wescott Plantation has several subsections with townhouses. The Gates subsection has a setup that is 2 townhouses per building, so every townhouse is an end unit. The Abbey has some of the newest townhouses, and some of these have attached garages. The Orchard and The Farm also have a good selection of townhouses for sale.
Limehouse Villas has brick front townhouses, and some of these have garages. The main drawback to this community is that it is much smaller, so it does not have the amenities (like a pool) that most of the other neighborhoods on this list have.
Daniels Orchard is also worth a look if you’re in a higher price range. These townhouses start in the high $200s and go up to the mid $400s. Most of these were built in 2008, and they have great Charleston style. Some of the end units even have wrap around double front porches. This community also has single family houses, which for the price, might be a better option. Most of these are proposed construction, but there are a few that are newly built (just finished and ready for move in).
The last townhouse community I’ll mention is Coosaw Commons. This community is right on the line of Summerville. So, some of these are listed as North Charleston and some as Summerville. These townhouses are newer (most were built in 2005), and they have garages.

Myths About Real Estate Agents
There are some myths about real estate agents, many of which are not so flattering. But when it comes down to it, real estate agents are not too out there, and there is a logical explanation to each misconception. Let’s straighten out a couple myths and facts.
Myth #1: They have big hair.
Fact: Though occasionally real estate agents do have big hair, most are regular people who get up in the morning just like you do, and go to work just like you do. Many real estate agents, in fact, are going bald due to stress related hair loss. Same with the fancy dagger-shaped manicures; in actuality, many real estate agents have bitten their nails down to nubs.
Myth #2: Real Estate Agents drive luxury cars while talking on their cell phones.
Fact: Itâ??s true that real estate agents are often trying to do too many things at once, but they like to be careful about it. And though real estate agents would like to make a good impression on you, more often than not they drive Hondas and Toyotas and hope that their hard work will sell you, not their Lexus.
Myth #3: Real Estate Agents know your area.
Fact: Just like normal people, real estate agents canâ??t know everything. Though they do spend a lot of time driving around town, they canâ??t be in all places at once, and they themselves probably have preferences for one neighborhood versus another. Make it clear to your realtor what kind of area you want to live in, and they can help you look within that section of town.
Myth #4: Real Estate Agents live outside of time.
Fact: Real estate agents have lives too, and those lives happen to take place in the same physical realm as yours does. While it might seem like they spend a strangely disproportionate chunk of time speaking with you, they are actually trying to be as time-conscious as possible, so that you can move more quickly into your home and they can move more quickly to helping their next client.
Myth #5: Real Estate Agents just want your money.
Fact: What real estate agents actually want is an easy life. They want to help you find a home you love, and they want to make their (often small) bit of commission off of it (and thatâ??s off the sale, not out of your pocket). They do not want your soul or your firstborn, just some patience, consideration, and a positive home-buying experience for all.

Upper Normandy Property Guide
Upper Normandy is located on the North Coast of France. To the North of the region is the English Channel. It is surrounded by the regions of Picardy to the East and Lower Normandy on the west side. To the South are Ile-de-France and the Centre. There are 2 departments: Eure and Seine-Maritime.
Upper Normandy Landscape
The Northern coast is typically limestone (chalk) cliffs with long beaches. Inland the countryside is dominated by the meandering Seine. The estuary is just south of Le Havre. Inland there are huge tracts of agricultural land which are not inspiring. Several rivers punctuate the landscape and these areas are attractive. Typified by the Monet Gardens at Giverny on the banks of the Seine near Vernon.
Upper Normandy Attractions
One of the big selling points is the Gastronomy of the region – lovely open air markets to sample the wide range of foods: produce from local farms (selling cider, ostrich meat, snails, Calvados, foie gras, and much more).
Water is a distinctive element – from the beaches and cliffs in the North to the rivers that meander throughout the region: rivers, with vast meadows, offering a taste of paradise to all fly-fishermen. The towns of Pont-Audemer and Bernay are surrounded by water and the ever present Seine is a feature in the Regional Nature Park.
There are visits to the archaeological gardens at Vieil-Evreux, medieval fortresses in Chateau-Gaillard, Harcourt, and centuries-old abbeys (in Bec-Hellouin, and Fontaine-Guerard). In the forests of Normandy – Lyons-la-Foret, Ferriere-sur-Risle – one can explore quaint towns and villages.
Fishing boats still land their catches at Fecamp, so that one can savour fresh seafood in the harbour-front restaurants. Further along the coast the large town of Dieppe is well worth a visit. There is plenty to see, with a good choice of shops and excellent restaurants along the quays.
Rouen, the capital of Normandy, is a delight. Its pedestrian centre allows easy access to Rouen’s history. There are walks through the historical centre, past half-timbered houses, discovering Gothic treasures like the Notre Dame Cathedral, St Ouen abbey, Saint Maclou church and the Palais de Justice or the Renaissance style monuments such as the Saint Maclou ossuary.
Monet’s Gardens
Last, but by no means least, are the beautiful Monet gardens at Giverny. The village alone is a delight to walk through but Monet’s Gardens are ablaze with colour during the summer and cannot be missed. Sample the bridge over the Lily pads. These are images that you will treasure.
Weather/Climate
Weather is similar to the South of England with distinct seasons. Perhaps slightly warmer and sunnier in the Summer! The countryside is green so it does rain.
Getting there
By road:
From Calais ferry port / Eurostar driving times are about 2 to 3 hours. You can travel by Autoroute (tolls) all the way.
By Ferry:
Upper Normandy is well served by the Ferry Ports of Dieppe and Le Havre so one can arrive in the heart of Upper Normandy from the UK. Other nearby ports include Caen, Cherboug ports to the West and Calais and Boulogne ports to the East.
By Plane:
Beauvais airport is short distance away in Picardy. One can also fly to Paris and get to Upper Normandy in less than 2 hours.
Upper Normandy Population
Just under 2 million inhabitants
Major Towns
Dieppe
Major port on the coast – lovely harbour with restaurant on the quays. Good selection of shops and monuments to visit.
Evreux
Evreux is situated on the river Iton just a 100 km from Paris. XII century cathedral with impressive stained glass windows.
Fecamp
Popular harbour town on the coast – between Le Havre and Dieppe.
Rouen
The capital of Normandy and full of history. Sited on a river, this city is well worth visiting for its architectural treasures.
Prices
(August 2006)
Property prices are affected by the proximity to Paris. Many Parisians buy weekend retreats in this region and contribute to property inflation.

My Home Town: Beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona!
Fountain Hills, Arizona is a wonderful place to live for many reasons. Take the people, who live in the town, for instance. Most people are not originally from here. You see, the towns first homes were built in the fall of 1971 and by early 1972, the first homeowners were moving in. So, if you were born before 1972, then you had to be from somewhere else. I feel that this is one reason that the people of Fountain Hills are friendly, welcoming and eager to helpjust as they were helped when they moved here. The town is located just east of Scottsdale, Arizona in the Northeast Valley as it is nestled in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, on its northeast slope. Awesome views are to be had everywhere in Fountain Hills. The Sonoran desert as the backdrop along with the mountain ranges like Four Peaks and the McDowells, parks, and rivers will give you a command of a certain peacefulness that is just comforting to the soulAnd if you dont have a view where you are at, just go 10 feet ahead! There are only three ways into the town of Fountain Hills. Being at the outskirts of Phoenix, the traffic is considerably less than the cut-through communitiesAnd there is no Auto-Mile or Restaurant-Row to add to drivers headaches. This makes it easy to get to the parks, businesses, and restaurants that are in and around town. In fact, one could probably travel anywhere in town within 15 minutes. The towns people in general are very active, taking part in many clubs and organizations …
